music memories: strawberry switchblade

Strawberry Switchblade was one of the few bands whose melodies typify the "innocence" of the 80's for me, with their pop-breezy tunes, especially with Who Knows What Love Is; the first song i've heard from them - which still puts a smile on my aged face as well as tender goosepimples :p - one of the funny things which still lingers on until this day, is whenever i refer to "Strawberry Shortcake" (toys from my sister's youth) i'd still say strawberry switchblade ... heh.

Who Knows What Love Is (my fav song)

ironically, i've not seen a single music video from them, until today a month ago, when i youtubed for them, with only the memory of their tunes to guide me LOL ... the first time i heard SS was via a pirated cassette, bought during the days of 3-for-$5 cassettes (anyone remember those? :p) ... and in actuality, their fashion-stylings were the harbinger of current CosPlay-fashions, dunnit? candypop-goth, i call them anyways :)

"Strawberry Switchblade was a Scottish indie pop-rock female quartet sporting gothic sensibilities. Formed in Glasgow in 1981, the band became the duo of Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall in 1982, and had a minor hit in the mid-1980s with their song "Since Yesterday". They were signed to WEA Records by Bill Drummond." [wiki]
