TRE-Retro80s-Thursday (June 3.2010)

All songs tweeted via ~ featuring an all-girl lineup this week :)

Female singers in the 80s were about having "fun" and brimming on the edge of self-empowerment, but without the enraged inner angst of the 90s (Sheryl, Alanis et al) ~ but what do I know? I'm just a guy who enjoyed the music for what it was, and how it made me feel ~ from epic melodies to chillin' in a corner (with some shoulder-shuffle action), the tunes remain somewhat classics thru the ages (even if only via faded memories), and even see a resurgence ala the television series GLEE (of which I am admittedly a fan of) with the remake of ONJ's "Physical" (peep video at bottom of post). Wonder which other tunes will get a new lease of life next?
